The Vanguard Accelerator Welcomes Virtuosis

Biopôle SA is thrilled to announce that Virtuosis is the latest digital health start-up to join the Vanguard Accelerator programme. This six-month initiative, run by Biopôle SA in collaboration with Swiss Healthcare Startups, is designed to support high-potential digital health ventures by providing tailored mentorship, expanding access to healthcare networks and accelerating market entry.

Founded in 2021 by Lara Gervaise and Edoardo Giudice as a spin-off from EPFL, Virtuosis sought to improve human communication through artificial intelligence (AI). As their technology evolved, the company expanded its focus to address mental health and health diagnostics through advanced audio analysis and AI.

Virtuosis uses AI-driven voice analysis to support mental health and well-being by examining vocal biomarkers that provide objective, real-time insights into stress, fatigue and emotional health. Already trusted by major corporate clients – including a collaboration with Microsoft and successful integration into Microsoft Teams – Virtuosis helps organisations foster healthier, more resilient workforces. Now, Virtuosis is expanding beyond the corporate world and into healthcare. By adapting their technology to clinical settings, they aim to support doctors and patients in monitoring mental health and improving healthcare outcomes.

Being at Biopôle puts us at the heart of an innovation hub with direct access to key healthcare stakeholders.

‘While we have a functional product, a strong team and a strategic partnership with Microsoft, we applied to the programme to gain targeted support in expanding beyond corporate well-being into the healthcare sector,’ said Lara Gervaise, co-founder and CEO of Virtuosis. ‘The medical field can be scary, and expert guidance will be critical in adapting our technology, ensuring compliance and engaging the right stakeholders.’

By joining the Biopôle Vanguard Accelerator and the Digital Health Hub, Virtuosis is at the heart of an ecosystem that connects them directly with healthcare providers, insurers and medical experts. Gervaise added: ‘This proximity will allow us to collaborate closely with doctors and patients, fine-tune our solutions and accelerate adoption in the healthcare space.’

Virtuosis joins an impressive roster of Vanguard Accelerator start-ups that includes PhenomX, biped.ai, Gabi SmartCare, Impli, Sensemodi, Pneumoscope, HoliYou and Neuria.
