BioLizard is looking   for a team lead data science who embodies our values and can lead a team of Lizards in further growth. Typically, a lizard adjusts to its surroundings. That is exactly what we do, we adapt to our customers’ data environment! The research field is rapidly becoming more data-driven, where we strive towards offering state-of-the-art data science, bioinformatics and AI solutions to support our customers with true data-driven knowledge generation. Our habitat is the stretch of land where biologists and data scientists, computer scientists and statisticians, both academics and company employees reside.

As a team lead data science you will be leading a team of 7-10 Lizards. In order to keep a good feel for the content of BioLizard projects, you will still be involved in client projects yourself either as a supervisor or senior expert. This will amount to about 50% of your work. The other 50% you will spend on coaching, mentoring and developing the people within your team both on a technical as well as personal development level.

As an expert in your field, you will be closely involved in pre-sales activities together with the commercial team. This will include direct contact with customers to clearly translate their needs into technical sales proposals. You will leverage your expertise to translate clients’ needs into technical solutions and, conversely, translate those solutions into understandable insights for clients. Your ability to communicate effectively will be one of the key factors to your success.

Crucial to the success of your role will be managing relationships with other people in the organization. This includes your peer team leads, sales and marketing, project management and upper management.

In this role, you will report directly to the COO.
