Immunology & In Vivo Pharmacology Expert

As a medicinal chemist at Orbis Medicines, you will be part of our newly established team in Copenhagen, Denmark, contributing to the discovery and development of innovative therapeutics.

Reporting directly to the VP of Medicinal Chemistry and Portfolio Management, you will have a key role in leading the design and synthesis of macrocycle projects, establish workflows, and drive crossfunctional collaborations. This position offers unparalleled opportunities for professional challenges as you tackle impactful projects in a rapidly evolving pipeline.

YOUR ROLE

  • Develop translational pharmacology plans to support drug candidate progression and collaborate in cross-functional projects as subject-matter expert

  • Build data packages enabling PK/PD understanding and dose-to-man predictions

  • Design, oversee and interpret in vivo pharmacology studies using diseaserelevant animal models run in collaboration with partners and expert CRO’s

  • Establish and coordinate activities relating to vivo model development and validation of target engagement and (PD) biomarker assays

  • Identify and address critical biological questions and provide scientific leadership to guide target selection and impact disease indication decisions

  • Build and maintain external networks with expert CRO’s, collaboration partners and scientific advisors


YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. in biology, biomedicine, or a related field, with at least 8 years of industry experience in Pharma/Biotech, and a strong track record in drug discovery and early development

  • Extensive expertise in in vivo pharmacology and PK/PD, including establishment of disease-relevant models and design/interpretation of in vivo studies. Used to managing collaborations with CROs

  • Strong background in immunology and translational science, and a deep understanding of immune pathways and mechanisms underlying inflammatory diseases

  • Broad experience with end-point analysis and biomarker assays / technologies to support pre-clinical and clinical drug development

  • A proactive and flexible team player, with strong collaboration skills, selfleadership, and the ability to manage multiple tasks of varying complexity

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific data to diverse audiences
