Experienced In Vitro Biologist

As a medicinal chemist at Orbis Medicines, you will be part of our newly established team in Copenhagen, Denmark, contributing to the discovery and development of innovative therapeutics.
Reporting directly to the VP of Medicinal Chemistry and Portfolio Management, you will have a key role in leading the design and synthesis of macrocycle projects, establish workflows, and drive crossfunctional collaborations. YOUR ROLE
- Design and develop in vitro / ex vivo assays to characterize the function and potency of potential drug candidates
- Plan and conduct assays in primary cells and cell lines and analyze cellular responses with a broad array of techniques
- Identify and implement new technologies, assay platforms and experimental methods in collaboration with colleagues
- Lead in vitro pharmacology efforts within projects to reach go/no-go decisions and contribute with understanding of disease mechanisms, cellular biology and guidance on overall translation
- Provide scientific input on project biomarker strategies, overseeing assay development and execution in collaboration with expert CRO’s
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Ph.D. in biology, biomedicine, or a related field, with at least 5 years of industry experience in Pharma/Biotech, and a strong track record in drug discovery and early development
- Extensive hands-on expertise in mammalian cell culture, including primary immune cells and PBMCs
- Proven experience in assay development, troubleshooting, and optimization using various types of assay technologies (e.g. ligand-based assays, qPCR, and flow cytometry)
- Broad expertise in immunology and diseases driven by inflammatory processes
- A keen interest in lab-based work with a positive and solution-focused mindset
- A proactive and flexible team player, with strong collaboration skills, selfleadership, and the ability to manage multiple tasks of varying complexity
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific data to diverse audiences.
