At SwitchKine, we are harnessing the potential of immune-cytokines to modulate the immune system in oncology or restore the balance in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. It is well established that the pH in inflamed microenvironment is acidic reducing the efficacy of cytokines. Building on an approach developed at Dundee University and Inserm, we are engineering pH-switchable cytokines with enhanced biological stability. Those engineered cytokines respond dynamically to local tissue environments, to enhance efficacy while reducing systemic toxicity. While our initial focus on IL-2 and IL-10 positions us at the forefront of immunomodulation, we are extending the approach to chronic inflammatory diseases
